Elyria Pioneers Varsity Grabs Lead In Ninth Inning For Victory Over Clay

Elyria Pioneers Varsity snatched the lead late in the game in a 4-2 victory over Clay on Wednesday. The game was tied at two with Elyria Pioneers Varsity batting in the top of the ninth when Adrian Petrisko singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Elyria Pioneers Varsity got things moving in the first inning, when Damia Parks’s sac fly scored one run for Elyria Pioneers Varsity.

In the top of the fifth inning, Elyria Pioneers Varsity tied things up at two when Izzy St. Peter singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

St. Peter was credited with the victory for Elyria Pioneers Varsity. She lasted nine innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out eight.

B Pawlaczyk took the loss for Clay. She surrendered four runs on ten hits over nine innings, striking out three and walking one.

Elyria Pioneers Varsity racked up ten hits on the day. Mallory Phares, Maycee Godbolt, and Petrisko all had multiple hits for Elyria Pioneers Varsity. Godbolt and Phares each collected three hits to lead Elyria Pioneers Varsity.
